Job Designation

The CI Specialist is a key resource for driving a Lean-based management system across the organization. The CI Specialist will be part of a team responsible for teaching and coaching managers/ front-line staff on the application of Lean to solve organizational problems. The CI Specialist leads and facilitates improvement projects with some coaching, including Kaizen Events, Value Stream mapping sessions and contributes to the development and implementation of improvement programs across the organization.  Consults to and coaches process owners, value stream owners, leaders and sponsors, as well as front line staff. Contributes to the development and execution of training and infrastructure for the CI Team.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Plan, Lead and Sustain improvement Activities (Kaizens, Projects, Just Do Its)
  • Support foundational Meggitt Production System Processes (GEMBA walks, Little Improvement for everyone Program, 6S Program, TPM Program )
  • Train employees on Lean principles or relevant standard work for specific departments
  • Support CI Director and Senior CI Specialists with data collection and analysis as needed
  • Be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate support of lean principles; respect, integrity, team work, collaboration and excellence.

Education & Experience

Education Level: (Required):          Bachelor's Degree                or equivalent experience


Field of Study/Area of Experience:                                                                                             

5+ years of experience between Continuous Improvement/ Manufacturing engineering/ Process Engineering/ Business

  • Requires a general knowledge of business operations and process improvement activities
  • Experience with Lean process improvement tools and methods or Lean certification desired.
  • Engineering background preferred (Aerospace/ Mechanical)
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement techniques.
  • Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering, a plus.
  • Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming, a plus.


  • Possesses a strong desire and ability to rapidly learn and apply the principles of a Lean enterprise. Able to perform complex tasks, prioritize multiple projects, and work under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to read & interpret data; possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable speaking in public and to various audiences.

  • Good technical writing and presentation skills.
