Job Designation

The Senior Commercial Manager leads the commercial team/department and manages a variety of complex customer contracts, ensuring that both Meggitt and the customer adhere to their terms. Reviews and drafts complex contractual documentation and negotiates agreements in accordance with corporate policy and applicable legal requirements. Assesses contractual and commercial risk and provides appropriate advice to the commercial team and the business unit/SBU.  Supervises the customer service representatives.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for contracts with customers.  Includes some government contracts.
  • Manages the Commercial Team at the site and/or supporting a major account.
  • Provides organizational advice, training, and development and guidance to the Commercial Management team.
  • Actively supports the bids team in responding to RFI's or RFP's including obtaining necessary internal approvals.
  • Provides Business Context Training to other functions within the business unit.
  • Reviews drafts, while recommending changes and negotiates commercial documents.
  • Monitors and reports on performance against contracts and drafts; negotiates contract amendments, leads in contract closedown/exit activities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Manages staff selection, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities to reach the business goals and expectations.

Job Specifications

Education:  Post-Secondary Degree in related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Years Experience:  7-10 years of relevant experience.

Skills: 

  • Thorough understanding of product profitability and pricing analysis.
  • Ability to source, structure and present business solutions to existing and prospective member business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to ensure partner/member related issues are handled in a fair, consistent manner.
  • Must have managerial experience along with strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
