Job Designation

This 2nd Shift candidate will perform molding, bonding and assembly operations in support of production contracts to include aerospace grade plastic and composite materials. Employee will work independently and in a team environment under moderate guidance and in accordance with company policy and safety procedures to achieve productivity goals. The Production Worker II performs a range of production tasks and operates a variety of production machinery. Ensures the maintenance of a safe work environment with an ultimate goal of zero accidents.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Performs a range of production tasks such as operating subassembly equipment, coating equipment, ovens, material handling equipment including hoists, cranes, tow motors, pallet trucks, and other miscellaneous equipment
  • Assemble, demold, and bond components and parts.  Prepare parts and perform bonding and finishing by filling, sanding, grinding, and cleaning.  Fit components by cutting, deburring, trimming and hand working materials.
  • Conducts inspections of own and/or other associates work to insure correctness in accordance with company and/or customer drawing
  • Applies process specifications governing the production of product within an assigned cell, records production time and quantity data. 
  • Maintains work area under company guidelines and participates in events as required
  • May operate light machinery such as sand blaster, buffing wheel and/or hydraulic presses.
  • Completes troubleshooting while operating equipment, including performing and documenting limited preventative maintenance
  • Monitors, measures, and records quality assurance data including, but not limited to, dimensions, weight, or other specific information
  • Tracks orders, utilizing appropriate equipment, moves material to enable the production process to flow efficiently and effectively
  • Comprehends and accurately follows specific detailed operational instructions and prints for job and setup operations
  • Follows specific quality criteria to maintain quality system requirements and assists in training less experienced staff
  • Observes safe work practices, maintains a safe and clean work environment and wears the appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work weekends as necessary

Job Specifications

Education: A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations is preferred.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field 

Years Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience

Skills:

  • Skilled in the use of hand tools including calipers, depth gages, micrometers, and other measuring equipment, and machinery
  • Ability to read various instructions      
  • Able to recognize and solve typical problems that can occur in own work area; evaluate and select solutions from established options
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs, intermittently.     
  • Solid oral and written communication skills
  • Good attention to detail      
  • Proficient computer skills
