Job Designation

Accountable for driving transformational Operational Improvements in Quality, Delivery and Inventory performance in specific Meggitt sites.  Extensive experience in developing and managing low to medium volume mixed model aerospace operations is a must. Understands and utilizes Lean operating systems to develop process standards and cost improvement initiatives in accordance with the Meggitt Production System (MPS

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Partners with Site Leader to create and deliver high impact tactical and strategic operational transformation plans.   Collaborates with cross functional Site Leadership to understand how issues are affecting the business and translates them into improvement initiatives that promote step change business results.
  • Works with cross functional leadership to accelerate the creation and maturation of key operational process standards. Establishes flow down to build 1st line capability within application of standards through coaching, advising, training and Go—Do hands on engagement.
  • Supports the integration of the Meggitt Production System to create Leadership and other targeted operational capability towards sustainable Site performance.  Includes mentoring of Site Leadership, creation of an effective management operating system, and assessing/closing maturity gaps throughout the organization.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level:

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical field
  • Preferred: Master's Degree/MBA or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

  • Required: 15+ years of experience in leading medium to large scale ($50M to >$150M) fully integrated business operations from inception through end of product life cycle. Demonstrated experience in Operating Systems deployment in Aerospace defence and commercial applications at a large Fortune 500 / FTSE 250 Company or equivalent where new operational process standards are rigorously applied and continually improved.
  • Required: 10+ years of experience in manufacturing expertise with Operational Excellence System development and deployment (Manufacturing Lean Operating System at a large Fortune 500/ FTSE 250 Company).
  • Ideal candidate can demonstrate prior experience deploying such systems at a large industrial (preferably Aerospace) Company (Fortune 500/FTSE 250) and has been involved in transforming businesses moving through early maturity phases/stages of excellence.
  • Additional experience in one or more of the following is preferred (beyond own area of primary functional expertise): Organization Design (OD)/ Organizational Effectiveness (OE) toolset and methodology; Project Management.
  • Lean Expert level Certification (or Black Belt) equivalent is required and Lean Master certification is a plus.

• Well-organized, detail-oriented, and ability to multi-task
• Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
• Proficient in Lean tools (5S, VSM, SIPOC, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc.)
