Outline of Role

The Business Development Manager will be dedicated to our SBU - Meggitt Polymers & Composites (MPC). The individual will be accountable for managing and cultivating new business opportunities focus on developing of long-term business partnerships with our Aerospace clients. The individual will focus on analysing customer needs to create a full solution from our Composites product portfolio. This person will be responsible for building value for our solutions and increasing revenues through renewable business relationships.


  • Develop and grow relationships with key customer and industry stakeholders in support of target sales.
  • Identify and win projects with tier 1 and 2 Aerospace customers.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities in line with the wider product strategy
  • As part of the team contribute to and support the wider strategic direction and decision making process.
  • Lead on the key customer interface for all aspects of business development, account management and after sales. 
  • Identify and qualify clients by establishing a sales/business relationship to ensure an active and continuous new and expanded business pipeline that exceeds strategic, long term, annual, and quarterly targeted sales projections
  • Accountability to maximize target revenue and generate long-term leads through needs analysis
  • Stay ahead of the game- industry movers and shakers, participate where possible in organizations directly involved with our prime markets, and continually work to improve sales techniques and sales knowledge.

    *The role is remote/home base the individual will need to spend 2/3 days in our Loughborough site with International travel*
