Our Airframe Systems division brings together an extensive range of skills and abilities to support some of the world’s leading commercial, business and military aircraft manufacturers
Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.
We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.
Whether it’s developing new radome solutions, fuel delivery systems or high-altitude life support systems, the Airframe Systems embodies the innovation at the heart of Meggitt.

Role Summary

Provides local leadership for the quality activities & performance of the (supply base, Quality Engineering function, Inspection function, Compliance Team.


Core Responsibilities 
• Leadership in the management of the quality Compliance team with coaching & mentoring for team members

• Lead initiatives that improve product & processes throughout the area of responsibility

• Provision of general direction and advice to the quality Compliance team on matters relating to product assurance and quality

• Demonstrates leadership behaviours in line with Meggitt High Performance Culture

• Supports the Head of Quality in the development and implementation of short, medium and long term objectives with respect to product assurance and quality.

• Responsible for managing collation of data key site metrics, & reporting them to the Head of Quality

• Responsible for the training of all direct reports, ensuring that the skills are relevant for the location that the team members have been deployed

• Responsible to ensure a pattern of rotation of the team members throughout the various value streams

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Familiar and fully understanding with current regulatory requirements issued by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and UK MOD.

• Fully conversant with the requirements of ISO9001 and AS/EN9100 series, and customer Quality requirements.

•  Have experience of hosting internal quality audits

• Supports training for all staff on whole site quality initiatives

• Have experience of leading  & direction for all quality interaction with customers, suppliers and statutory/regulatory authorities throughout all external audits / assessments

• Provides leadership in the maintenance and obtaining of all approvals, Regulatory / Business Management / Special process / Customer

• Development and implementation of appropriate policies, processes and systems for product assurance and quality

• Analysis and reporting the performance of the product assurance and quality systems to the head of quality for use in Management reviews

• Establish point of contact link with the Plc quality team for the implementation of all centrally directed processes, and centrally driven initiatives.

• Developing a  ‘zero defect’ mind set to the business management processes

• Responsible for the creation and execution of the internal & supplier audit plans
