Job Designation

The Planning Manager is responsible for establishing and leading all aspects of the S&OP process for the business, better matching supply with demand and ensuring the robustness of MRP data and the processes required to support this.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Ownership of the business level production planning, ensuring the creation and execution of all elements of the S&OP process: data collection, demand planning, supply planning, reconciliation and executive S&OP and making production plans to balance workload and capacity
  • Ensure the monthly creation and execution of all elements of the factory level S&OP process                                        
  • Managing the demand load with the Production Centres. Ensuring that the Production Centre S&OP planning is aligned with the business needs and monitoring manufacturing plans, ensuring that the sites are on plan / adjusting the master plans as necessary
  • Creating and maintaining accurate delivery forecasts and production plans in SAP for the entire business across all Production Centres
Job Core Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and continuously improve the planning processes and procedures & associated production planning activity
  • Responsible for finished goods inventory control. Providing guidance on strategic stock “in line” and within “sub-tier” – communicated to all sites / balanced according to customer demand 
  • Ownership of strategic / long-term planning and production forecasts
Skills and Abilities
  • Ideal candidate can demonstrate prior experience deploying a rigorous S&OP process
  • Strong knowledge of SAP essential
  • Demonstrated experience leading site wide, cross-functional change initiatives
  • Excellent influencing skills and able to build relationships at all levels in the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to share insights and coach site leaders in critical S&OP decision making
  • Strong business and financial acumen to align financial planning and S&OP processes
  • Expert knowledge of supply chain and operations
  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to visualise and plan objectives and goals strategically
  • Ability to develop process while keeping focus on achieving breakthrough results
  • Ability to work independently and lead others regardless of reporting structure to meet objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and provide cross-functional leadership at all levels in the organization
  • Decisively makes high-quality decisions in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated use of lean tools to drive sustainable cultural change in a large global organization
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, SharePoint and web-browsers
Job Specifications

Field of Study/Area of Experience

  • 10 years of production scheduling and planning experience gained within lean manufacturing environments (preferably aerospace)
  • Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • A Super user / strong experience with ERP,  SAP / MFG-Pro, Microsoft and Excel packages – number and data driven
  • Applying lean and continuous improvement principles
