Job Designation

Under relatively close supervision and working from written and verbal instructions from test engineers, assembles and prepares wheels, brakes, and component parts for various mechanical and thermo-mechanical tests.

 

NOTE: This is a 2nd shift position (4:30 PM - 1:00 AM)

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Prepares test equipment and conducts routine environmental simulation, static, and dynamic tests according to written and verbal instructions. Monitors test progress; utilizes test equipment; acquires and interprets data; documents results; maintains accurate records of test result; Obtains & controls test samples; Ensure calibration program compliance for lab equipment used in test..

  • This is the entry level and the work involves moderately complex testing and assembly where established methods and routines can be applied. The Test Operator will be assigned more difficult and complex duties under the close guidance of more experienced personnel.

  • Performs Continuous Improvement activities to enhance the efficiency of processes and tools in the laboratory.

  • The work is subject to various shop conditions such as dust, heat, etc., and some danger of cuts and bruises. Must be physically fit and capable of making some heavy lifts.

Job Specifications

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Vocational training in Mechanics or Electronics is preferred.
Required Experience:  Minimum of 1-2 years’ previous experience working in a job shop environment.
