Job Designation

The Supplier Development Specialist (SDS) will identify and drive projects to improve supplier delivery performance within the Supply Chain in order to provide benefits to Meggitt. The SDS activities will include managing systemic supplier performance issues and focusing on root cause and corrective action.  The SDS will regularly visit suppliers and develop relationships while discussing open delivery schedule status. Ensuring supplier rate readiness to meet Meggitt demand will also be an important part of the role. This will require in depth supplier capacity reviews and identifying actions if capacity does not support demand. The role will support Meggitt’s aim to achieve 100% customer OTD.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Ensure weekly and/or daily status reports are issued internally and externally as needed to identify current status and ongoing improvement actions. There will also be a requirement to schedule meetings and provide presentations with clear structure.
  • Proactively review supplier processes with Meggitt. Identify areas for improvements and then drive improvements identified. This could be how often Meggitt issues PO schedules and how supplier responds to confirm schedules, accuracy and/or frequency of Meggitt forecasts, general communication between Meggitt and the supplier or any other process that is causing poor supplier OTIF.
