Our Airframe Systems division brings together an extensive range of skills and abilities to support some of the world’s leading commercial, business and military aircraft manufacturers.

Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Whether it’s developing new radome solutions, fuel delivery systems or high-altitude life support systems, Airframe Systems embodies the innovation at the heart of Meggitt.

Job Designation

The Sr. Manager – Site Operations leads various strategic and tactical activities for the Akron, Ohio site. Will both maintain and transform the site in terms of infrastructure, footprint, and industrial activities. The Sr. Manager is integral to the overall operation and must work collaboratively to build a culture of trust and transparency while delivering keen insight and informed, timely decisions that impact the organization's ability to meet its commitments and objectives. The position will regularly engage with the MBS senior leadership including the President on specific issues.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Collaboratively develops and executes plans that support manufacturing, engineering, operational, sustainability, and site footprint transformational objectives.
•    Accountable to deliver key financials and business operations targets
•    Provides leadership for escalation concerns surrounding site manufacturing, MRO, facilities, HSE and regulatory compliance requirements.
•    Direct leadership of site manufacturing, repair, facilities, and compliance activities including a team of both salary exempt and hourly union workforce. 
•    Responsible for management of the Site Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) program administration; including maintenance of all regulatory compliance reporting, implementation of programs to achieve corporate HSE targets, and advancement of the safety culture across the site.
•    Works within budget to allocate staff and other resources to ensure that operations run smoothly and best utilize available funding to meet departmental objectives.
•    Looks for improvement opportunities as a matter of standard work.

•    Develops and supports High Performance Culture to have the best engagement from employees, including co-chairing the Akron Office Committee and assisting driving an inclusive environment across site.
•    Develop roadmaps to develop next steps of the High Performance Systems
•    Support Product Group, Division and Group initiatives 
•    Stakeholder owner for Akron Landlord, sub tenants and adjacent businesses
•    Responsible for rightsizing the site footprint for Office, Engineering Test and Operations.

Job Specifications

Education: Bachelor degree preferred or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
Years’ Experience:  Minimum 7 years relevant site leadership and/or operations management experience required.  Previous experience with a collectively bargained workforce desired.
•    Demonstrated capacity to improve operational efficiency and implement systems that optimize productivity.
•    Able to quickly understand complex concepts and implement/execute successful approaches.
•    Demonstrated world class leadership for Safety and Quality in an industrial setting.
•    Strong team development and management skills with a corporate mindset to drive action in a matrix environment.
•    Action-oriented, with ability to coordinate resources and make decisions by assessing diverse options.
•    Previous experience dealing with leased facilities/property-owners a plus.
•    Passion for sustainability, transformation, and continuous improvement.
•     Ability to absorb and apply new technical information and evaluate implications.      
•     Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence, while exercising sensitivity to the audience.
