Job Designation

This position consists of the assembly of precision electro-mechanical units whose assembly procedure requires the same use of a blend of skills.  Also covers the assembly of sub-assemblies for electro-mechanical units, using such skills independently or collectively.

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Operator performs such operations as assembling of valve components and adjustment and test of subassembly and top level assemblies, including hydraulic tube plumbing.  Troubleshooting to correct faulty work, incorporate changes and reconditioning as required on electro-mechanical units.
  • Responsible for the orderliness and neatness of his working area and the proper care and use of material and equipment. 
  • Responsible for following and conforming to the work requirements and habits.
  • Responsible for observing safe work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work area.
  • Must have some personal tools required for this type work.
  • The employee is responsible for the quality of the work performed and will work towards certification as a Certified Test Operator (CTO).

Job Specifications

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  Vocational training in Mechanics or Electronics is preferred.

Experience:  2-4 years’ previous experience working in a manufacturing shop floor environment.

Skills:

  •  Uses electronic, hydraulic and related or other equipment necessary to assemble and test the items involved.
  • Must have the hand and finger dexterity essential for this work. 
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly techniques, proper aptitude and ability for the tedious and confining operations of this work. 
  • Works from blueprints, process sheets and other information to meet standards and specifications.
  • Attention to detail.
