Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Manager of Procurement is responsible for managing and overseeing procurement resources who manage complex purchasing activity for assigned goods and services.  This position ensures objectives relating to quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness are satisfied fully meeting department goals and supporting site operations.  The Manager of Procurement effectively manages multi-faceted internal and external relationships including direct reports to achieve objectives and is responsible for managing a team of procurement professionals having a direct impact on site financial and operational objectives and customer satisfaction. This position ensures team execution of strategic and tactical procurement objectives.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Manage direct reports consisting of Senior Buyers and Buyers
•    Direct the preparation of purchase requisitions and procurement activities to assure delivery of quality products, on time, to satisfy production requirements.
•    Monitor procurement procedures to comply with governmental and policy regulations.
•    Develop and maintain sound relationship with the supplier base to provide the necessary support of divisional product requirements.
•    Manage supplier cost, quality, and delivery driving resolution within the site team and, where necessary, escalating for additional support; implement actions to resolve supplier non-conformance issues.
•    Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases for assigned commodities or those led by their direct reports in support of site Purchase Cost Variance (PCV) goals.
•    Support sourcing of new products and new product introduction activities in line with Meggitt policies, processes, and strategy as assigned.
•    Support development and execution of commodity strategies aligned with agreed upon site or Group requirements for assigned commodities and indirect categories. 
•    Supporting the Procurement Director in meeting the Site's business objectives (including daily attendance at site DLAs as required) and supporting gap analysis & actions to support the MPS deliverables for supply chain topics
•    Supervise day-to-day procurement and buyers for assigned commodities.
•    Manage supplier and supply base risk in line with site specific and Meggitt requirements.
•    Ensure trade compliance issues are properly managed across procurement team.
•    Participate in site-specific procurement and supplier quality development when required including but not limited to when materials or services procured are unique to the site or to support new program introduction.
•    Develop and deploy (in conjunction with Division and Group teams) procurement processes, strategies and practices to drive continuous improvement and aligned activities across Meggitt.
•    Lead, manage, and coach in line with Meggitt values and high performance culture.
•    Develop and promote procurement talent within the site.
•    Ensure that the procurement team is represented both internally and externally with the highest level of professional, ethical, and performance standards.
•    Carry out other duties as may be required within the job holder’s capability consistent with the terms and conditions of employment.

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree in a related technical field, Supply Chain or Business Administration
Years’ Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive procurement management experience in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.  Aerospace industry experience a plus.
•    Detail oriented with the ability to execute on tight deadlines
•    Extensive experience and supervisory skills in the planning, organizing, and directing a procurement function
•    High degree of professionalism, accuracy, and service orientation
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills required (verbal and written)
•    Adept at prioritizing multiple tasks in a changing environment
•    Ability to build consensus across multiple site functions
•    Ability to simplify and clarify complex and ambiguous problems
•    Ability to adapt quickly and learn new tasks independently
•    Able to build consensus across multiple organizations
•    Skillful at MS Office, including strong Excel skills including V-lookup, pivot tables, and filtering functions
