Job Designation

The Engineering Systems Analyst will provide support and maintenance of engineering applications such as Catia v5, SmarTeam, Enovia, Solidworks, AutoCAD, DOORS, MatLab, LabView, Accurev, Jira, and other engineering applications as part of the IT support team. In addition to support, the role will work on projects that include version upgrades, migrations to standard tools and new implementations. This role fulfills these responsibilities for company sites.

Job Core Responsibilities

BAU – Responsibilities
•    Handle support requests from end users via the Service-Now ticketing system.
•    Prioritize and escalate issues when necessary to the appropriate experienced Business Analyst.  
•    Support and perform system/application upgrades of engineering software and licenses.
•    Work with other business analysts, and product team members on projects related to engineering applications and implementations.
•    Ensure highly standardized deployment and maintenance of servers, storage, databases and server applications
•    Assist with requests from the operation services team, business analysts, and project team members on small issues.

Project support and Miscellaneous responsibilities

•    Large project support as required. This would include large system/application implementations and upgrades.
•    Assist with the long term migration to standard engineering tools.
•    Coordinate with infrastructure to ensure application servers and data are being backed up as per agreed schedules and processes. 
•    Execute standard maintenance and performance tuning, as well as unplanned remediation. 
•    Perform periodic security audits as required by IT standards
•    Develop and execute test procedures as required to ensure optimum system performance, reliability, availability, security and operational stability
•    Implement all necessary performance management, capacity planning and system administration processes to maximize support and availability of computer infrastructure

 

Job Specifications

Education Level:    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other technical field
Field of Study/Area of Experience: 1-3 years of relevant experience
 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
•    Experience in , configuration and troubleshooting of CATIA v5
•    Experience in the implementation / support of Engineering Enterprise solutions such as:
     o    Doors, Jira, Serena Dimensions, Rational Team Concert, Jama, MS Project, Power BI.
•    Experience in configuration and /or support of PLM systems such as:
     o      Smarteam, Enovia, Solidworks PDM, Agile or Mastercontrol.  
•    Advanced experience with Microsoft desktop environments (Office, Windows, etc.)
•    SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle database experience, a plus.
•    Experience with VB, PowerShell, Bash, or other type scripting experience, a plus.
•    Familiarity with ITAR and data export restrictions
•    Understanding of custom coding in engineering systems, a plus. 
•    Familiarity with IT ticketing system and working tickets with SLAs, etc. a plus (Service Now)
•    Experience developing and implementing support and administration procedures
•    Strong written and oral communication skills
•    Strong organizational skills; experienced in prioritizing tasks ensuring that the most critical requirements are addressed first and at the earliest possible opportunity
•    Strong team player adept at collaborating with team members to support a multi‐site customer base.
•    Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook,  and web- browsers
•    Proficient in Project Management tools (i.e., MS Project) or similar project tool (s)
