Across its five product groups, Airframe Systems produces a host of world leading technology. Our Braking Systems product group supplies both military and commercial aircrafts.

We seal essential spaces, such as landing gear, wings, engines, nacelles, windows and doors, and produce intelligent air data systems and sensors that measure altitude, angle or acceleration. These sensors can be used on planes, train control systems or even missile control systems.

Job Designation

The Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products for substantial platforms within the business. This position develops and updates, on a regular cadence, the unconstrained demand plan in support of the Global Sales & Operations Planning (0-18 month’s minimum S&OP horizon), RF and budget processes. This involves building a cross-functionally aligned consensus demand plan considering.

Job Core Responsibilities

•    Develops unconstrained demand plans utilizing all sources of demand signal and market intelligence, deliver and communicate changes to previous plan into the ERP / MRP
•    Supports Digital Transformation. Leverage analytical tools, for example, advanced Excel savvy and at times use of Power BI to Analyze and report on previous forecast errors (utilizing pareto and root cause analysis) to deploy improved accuracy and changes of behavior / process with key stakeholders
•    Contributes to the Demand Review step of the Site’s S&OP process. Delivers min/max and most likely forecast scenarios with quantified assumptions, insight, analysis and recommendations to help resolve customer requirements with quantified risks & opportunity development / management of action plans
•    Engages key customer meetings/trips as necessary (collaborating with marketing) to “give” visibility and enable us to “get” insights to future demand, while documenting into CRM system insights/opportunities and deploying next step action plans.
•    High Performance Culture behaviors, demonstrated collaboration, employee engagement and HPS across integrated operations and customer facing functions.
•    Evaluates forecast results, conducts root-cause analysis for out of tolerance forecast errors and identifies methods to continuously improve the demand forecast accuracy.  
•    Uses and maintains the Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool, ensuring correct demand master data.
•    Responds daily to demand and supply changes and proactively drive the Site to deliver a stable, feasible plan that achieves the Site’s customer fulfillment and operations efficiency targets
•    Documents the assumptions supporting the forecasts, including details around quantities and anticipated delivery timing.
•    Tracks bookings, compares to forecasts and collaborates with Sales and Contract Administrators to follow-up on missing firm orders.
•    Provides inputs to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
•    Coordinates and communicates customer action plans in collaboration with the Master Planners.
•    Travel up to 25%.

Job Specifications

Education:  Bachelor degree required or 8 years’ equivalent experience; Master degree preferred
Certifications: CPF / ASCM or APICS
Years’ Experience: 5 or more years of experience in combinations of Supply Chain Planning, Sales/Marketing, Demand Planning and Data Analytics.  5 or more years’ previous Demand Planning experience within other organizations, with focus on customer collaboration, experience with forecasting and consensus demand planning. Aerospace and Defense or related industry experience preferred.
•    Experience with advanced analytics packages preferred (i.e., Power BI)
•    Experience of working within ERP (SAP preferred) and Supply Chain Planning software tools (i.e., Avercast, Servigistics)
•    Experience working with complex assembly products and manufacturing processes for mechanical and electrical component parts working within full systems
•    Strong understanding of the end to end Supply Chain and Demand Planning’s influence upon it
•    Experience of working within an organizations Sales & Operations Planning process
•    Ability to gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports with recommendations
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
•    Ability to meet tight deadlines and targets, often multi-tasking across priorities
•    Well-organized, detail-oriented and the ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines
•    Experience managing unconsumed demand across several platforms and customers
•    Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically
•    Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers
•    Experience and knowledge of complex channels to market, working across OE and AM customer base
•    Agility to take on other tasks or duties as needed to meet business priorities
