Job Designation

This position is responsible for the assembly of precision electro-mechanical units including sub-assemblies. 

Job Core Responsibilities

  • Performs such operations as assembling valve components, adjustment and test of subassembly, top level assemblies and hydraulic tube plumbing.  
  • Assembly work performed is intricate and tedious requiring a high level of attention to detail with a quality focus.   
  • Works from blueprints, process sheets and other information to meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshooting to correct faulty work, incorporating changes and reconditioning as required on electro-mechanical units.
  • Compliance with all safety, work rules and regulations. Demonstrates safe work habits and proper care of equipment and tools.
  • Responsible for observing safe work practices and maintaining a safe and clean work area.
  • Must have personal tools including:
    • ¼” drive 6 point socket set (up to 9/16” socket)
    • 3/8” drive 6 point socket set (up to 7/8” socket)
    • Screwdriver set (Phillips & flat)
    • Plier set (small size that includes needle nose)
    • Allen key set (metric and SAE)
    • Side cutter set (small size that includes flush cut)
    • ¼” drive hex bit set (standard length and extra-long)
  • Training provided to work towards Certified Test Operator (CTO) certification.
  • Hourly union position that is designated as safety sensitive under the FAA/DOT regulations. 

Job Specifications

Education:  A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  Vocational training in Mechanics or Electronics is preferred.

Experience:  Minimum 2 years’ previous experience working in a manufacturing shop floor environment. 4 years of prior experience assembling electrical and/or mechanical components preferred.


  • Prior experience using electronic, hydraulic and testing related equipment. Excellent hand and finger dexterity with a high level of attention to detail is required.   
  • Ability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment to ensure production goals are met with a high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work well with manufacturing hourly employees and all levels of management personnel.
  • Versatility, flexibility and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
