Job Designation

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk performs routine tasks in support of accounts payable/receivable transactions. Participates in paying vendor invoices and reconciling payable/receivable ledger accounts.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Processes invoices, performing verifications of invoice accuracy
  • Posts transactions to payable and receivable ledger accounts
  • Processes employee expense reports and reconciles employee advances
  • Assists with month end closing as required
  • Collects and reconciles timecard information, prepares and submits payroll files, processes check runs and distributes paychecks
  • Maintains appropriate filing systems for financial documentation
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Job Specifications

Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations

Skills :

  • Basic understanding of standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in changing situations
  • Ability to recognize and solve typical problems and select solutions from established options    
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and accurate data entry skills
