Job Designation

As a key member of the Finance Shared Service Center for Meggitt, the General Ledger Manager will lead a team of 3 people and will manage the quality, service, workload and controllership of the General Ledger function in the US.

Job Core Responsibilities
  • Manage periodic processing for the multiple company ledgers (9 business units), ensuring equal distribution of workload across all team members.
  • Maintain integrity of the sub-ledgers, bank reconciliations and month end reconciliation to the General Ledger
  • Oversee Fixed Asset & Depreciation administration processes
  • Ensure all escalated queries and disputes are resolved with the internal customers to maintain the accuracy of the ledger accounts.
  • Ensure service is delivered in line with agreed controls, procedures and in accordance with the Service Level Agreement
  • Promote standardization of GL processes
  • Continually enhance the Company’s reputation for excellent Customer Service both internally and externally
  • Maintain good working relationships with AR and AP teams
  • Takes accountability for SLA and KPI statistics related to team
  • Supports process and system improvement projects by leveraging team resources to deliver regional / global projects
  • Identify and manage all career development and training issues within the team
  • Deliver clear and timely communication on all issues, both internal and external
  • Lead the team to continuously improve performance, motivate team members and lead the team to achieve individual and team objectives
  • Conduct individual performance evaluations for each team member against agreed objectives and provide input as part of the pay and performance cycle
  • Identify, analyze and resolve performance issues
  • Manage the team against all “people” policies in the FSSC, including discipline, grievance, etc.
  • Archive records to satisfy audit and statutory requirements
Job Specifications

Education Level: (Required):          Bachelor's Degree or 5-7 years equivalent experience managing in an accounting environment
