Job Designation

To further strengthen our “Industrialisation & Methods” department, we are currently looking for a “Mechanical Methods Engineer”.

The Position

As “Mechanical Methods Engineer” you will manage the development and the improvement of the entire manufacturing methods: equipment & tools, processes, flow of operations, flows of datas, skills level of people, layouts, in order to enhance a sustainable performance. You will be accountable to support industrialisation for all new products or legacy ones as part of the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM ) process and the applicable industrialisation process or as part of an improvement initiative.


Job Core Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for this role are:

• Implement and enforce the directives of Meggitt through the SMM procedure and apply the norms and standards as ISO9001, ISO14001, EASA Part21, ATEX, Nadcap, ITAR, DFARS, Special Process, IPC-A-610
• Participate and support the audits ( System and Customers )
• Support the Industrialization Team by proposing processes and associated Recurring Costs, on defined products, as part of the Product Life Cycle Management (PLM) or VAVE or improvement initiatives
• Responsible of new products introduction (NPI) or new version of legacy ones in the production by checking the raw material, routines, instructions, qualifications of the equipment/process, skills of people and also, by updating PFMEAs and measuring capabilities, key characteristics (KC), control plans and others deliverables in accordance with PLM/PPAP
• Perform a technological watch ( equipment and processes)  through documentation, exhibitions in order to improve the efficiency of the manufacturing and the margins
• Define the Strategy and implement or adapt and standardize the Methods (equipment & tools, processes, flow of operations, flows of datas, skills level of people, layouts) in order to manufacture the products all along the PLM. The scope includes the investments workbooks, the definition of the TPM, the Test and all the Manufacturing Value streams at Fribourg Site. It includes also subcontractor’s tasks when attached as part of the process of manufacturing. It includes also the transfer of manufactured products to others sites. By “implement or adapt the methods” it means qualification, instructions, training and support given to prod engineering
• Responsible of the special process
• Measure, record and share internal/customers warranties and all the key characteristics coming from FMEAs  with a Measurement System Analysis Plan in accordance with the zero defect plan
• Adapt the methods in the manufacturing and propose/follow-up Product Change Requests to increase the efficiency of the manufacturing and the yields of the products in accordance with the goals (Quality, Costs, Delivery, Inventory, …)  and the pillars of Fribourg Site

Job Specifications

Your Profile

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree
• 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or industrialization/Methods  engineering 
• Experience with special processes for welding required, Experience in the development of the mechanical jigs required, Great skills in Solidworks
• French fluent & good command (spoken & written) of English required 
• Exposure of electronic/mechanical systems and manufacturing concepts required Sound knowledge of APQP-PPAP
• Autonomous, good team spirit
