Meggitt Control Systems is a leading supplier of fire protection and control, pneumatic, fluid control, thermal management and electro-mechanical equipment and sub-systems. Some nine facilities are located in the USA and UK, with repair stations in the UK, USA and Singapore.

Products: Aerospace valves - Bleed, ECS, anti-icing, fuel, solenoid, engine case-cooling, mixing and starter valves; and air-oil separators and Retimet filters. Thermal management - Tubular and plate-and-fin heat exchangers. High pressure ducting - High pressure ducting, flexible joints. AS1424 metallic hoses. Electro-mechanical products - Fans, motors, compressors, controllers and specialist pumps. Energy - Industrial fuel and bleed air control valves; ground fuelling products. Safety systems - Aircraft fire protection and control systems.



Directs and supports the overall activities of assigned programmes throughout their lifecycle as required to meet cost, schedule and performance constraints of the contract in accordance with the latest Programme Lifecycle Management (PLM) process. Provides programme management for new programme introduction with a focus on delivering products that meet requirements on schedule and within budget. Support marketing proposals and products in after-market as required, including quick resolution of in-service problems. Overall objectives are to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations in terms of programme quality, cost and delivery

Job Core Responsibilities


• Supports marketing new business proposal activities as required by providing Programme Management input as applicable. After contract award, co-ordinates and works with marketing to develop plans and set strategy for achieving follow-on business. 

• For OE bids, integrates the Programme Capture Plan into an overall Programme Plan once new programmes are won and assigned.

• Identifies and secures programme resources in agreement with Functional Heads.

• Works closely with assigned engineering project managers (aka “IPT leads”) to direct and co-ordinate the efforts of all employees associated with assigned programmes, approving changes in assigned personnel.

• Responsible for producing and managing the Programme Management Plan, ensuring that all aspects of assigned programmes, including Technical, Commercial and Supply Chain activities are integrated into a Master Programme Schedule.

• Acts as a major customer contact for all assigned programmes.

• Ensures that all projects, work packages and activities within assigned programmes have owners, deliverables and due dates.

• Defines and communicates Programme Organization Charts and maintains a current understanding of status of assigned programmes at all times.

• Ensures that risks and issues are identified, prioritized and escalated and implements mitigation strategies.

• Monitors, reports, and drives programme progress in accordance with established procedures and budgets.

• Participates in the resolution of commercial and technical in-service issues, especially with regards to customer interaction and relationship.

• Carries out special duties as assigned.


Key skills and competencies required:

 University degree or equivalent qualification, preferably in science or engineering Post-graduate education is desirable.

 Experience in an aerospace environment preferred.

 A strong technical background to understand and evaluate the technical specifications, requirements and capabilities associated with the programme.

 Experience in Project Engineering, manufacturing and scheduling is desirable.

 Demonstrated ability to manage multiple activities and projects.

 Effective motivator/mentor and communicator.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 Strong PC skills
