Job Designation

The accounts receivable clerk is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid to the organization. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payment for goods and services completed by the organization.

Job Core Responsibilities

  1.       Applies customer payments.
  2.       Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
  3.       Processes credit card payments and credits.
  4.       Makes adjustments to accounts as needed.
  5.       Prepares weekly manual deposits.
  6.       Prepares weekly reports for accountants
  • Resolves accounting issues with internal customers and external vendors
  • Processes vendor invoices, compiles check runs and reconciles subsidiary accounts receivable ledgers
  • Delegates work to meet deadlines to accounting clerks on as needed basis
  • Reviews US & UK Bank Pcard processing
  • Maintains vendor files, resolves discrepancies between PO’s and invoices and manages vendor payment schedules
  • Processes month-end accounts receivable accrual
  • Administers month end reporting and out of balance research and journal entries
  • Reviews and processes expense reports
  • Oversees year end activities to include creating files for new year
  • Reviews paperwork for accuracy
  • Reports 1099 and EDD Independent Contractors to external institutions
  • Other projects as necessary

·       Education Level: (Required):       Associate's Degree in related field ( Bachelor’s Degree a plus)


Field of Study/Area of Experience:

·       2 + years of experience in accounting functions or related field

·       Working knowledge of accounting software (Quantum, Oracle, MAS, etc.)

·       Solid knowledge of full accounting cycle.

·       Knowledge of International invoice processing and currency conversion

·       Ability to reconcile and analyze accounts
